Ryan Montbleau builds a bridge between 70s soul, ragtime, blues-folk-Americana, and the contemporary singer-songwriter vibe of artists like Martin Sexton and Ray LaMontagne.
“I like that I can do songs at Passim and you can hear a pin drop,” Montbleau added. “Or, like Paul Simon, I can get you to move and dance with the band. Sometimes I am doing the same songs, but they come off so differently. That’s one of the things I love about what I do.”
"Monbleau’s continued growth as an artist is evident on the album; it is his first authentic blues record, no two songs sound the same as the material is some of the most moving of his catalog." - Glide Magazine
